Wienliebe Postcards

Client: Personal Project / Wienmuseum

The ‘Wienliebe’ postcard series not only offers new perspectives on the diverse facades of Vienna, but also presents famous sights of the city such as St Stephen's Cathedral and St Charles' Church. Each card is a small work of art that captures the beauty and character of Vienna. The illustrated postcards are available at the designforum and in the shop of the new Wienmuseum, which is also part of the postcard series.

As a Viennese by choice, I love strolling through the city and admiring the beautiful old Art Nouveau and Wilhelminian style houses, all of which are beautifully decorated and whose façades tell little stories. These artistically decorated façades tell numerous little stories and invite passers-by to linger and contemplate. Many residents of Vienna use their balconies and windows to create small urban gardens that enrich the cityscape with vibrant colours.

The focus of my illustrative work is on the depiction of plants and flowers. my interest in urban landscapes and cityscapes is reflected in my latest series of postcards. This series combines my passion for flora with my fascination for the architecture of Vienna and shows charming balcony gardens scattered throughout the city. The postcards are intended to inspire viewers and encourage them to try their hand at ‘tiny gardening’ and create their own small balcony or window garden.

The Postcards invite you to see the city with new eyes and discover the hidden green oases in the midst of the urban environment. She shows how beautiful gardens can be created even in small spaces with a little creativity and a love of nature. The ‘Wienliebe’ series is a tribute to Vienna and a call to celebrate the beauty of urban life and actively help shape it.
